School Improvement Aspiration

My career objective is to provide leadership and direction in educational technology to teachers, administrators, and educational leaders to improve technology integration and infusion across the curriculum in a school district. Pearce purports, “Leaders see what is needed and inspire others to take action to effect change (Pearce, 2003). As an emerging leader in my organization, one thing that I aspire to improve is technology integration and infusion across the curriculum in the school district. The most effective way to focus on the issue of technology integration is to gain the support of a diverse audience to include the local board members, the technology service staff, principals, assistant principals, teachers, parents, students, and the Chamber of Commerce by using liberation technology mechanisms to transform the information into a variety of multimedia sources.

Another way to inspire others to use technology is for me to continue to be an advocate for technology and integrate the use of technology into my teaching. As I model my positive behavior for technology integration, others will see it and hopefully embrace the paradigm shift of technology integration and infusion.

As Paul Duguid said, “Technology is…called upon to do for information what theology sought to do for the soul (Levy, 2001, p. 111)". Technology integration across the curriculum will cause the educational systems to produce technology able kids to function in an information-rich society (NETS—National Educational Technology Standards).
